I definitely think that this is an issue that should be fixed for 12.04 lts. This is one of my biggest annoyances with Unity, and I do not believe it would be that hard to change. Am I the first person to notice this issue, or are the shut-down/logout/lock-screen/restart buttons there on purpose?
