Public bug reported: The add printer dialog doesn't provide an option to skip the search for drivers. This wastes time when you know the printer isn't supported by Ubuntu.
The only option is "Cancel" (in 2 separate dialog boxes) which (in both cases) takes you back to the "select port" screen. So, in order to get to the "select PPD" screen you have to wait for the driver search to complete. ** Affects: system-config-printer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: administration driver printer user-interface -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/910358 Title: Add printer dialog won't skip driver search To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/system-config-printer/+bug/910358/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
