I am sorry, I should have been more clear. When I wrote Kubuntu 11.10, I meant a fresh install of the final version from Kubuntu 11.10 ISO to a VMware Player. And Muon always hung at 56% Running dpkg My work-around outlined in my comment #16 was the only one that was successful for me, and I tried half a dozen times.
