Public bug reported:

ran precise on a core i5 2500k. When I start minecraft, it works, play
with it for a few minutes, and it will hang. The rest of the system
looks OK, but isn´t. when I use ´top´ to see what is running, it looks
normal, but htop returns a different list of processes with many of them
named minecraft. Then I send SIGTERM to minecraft java process. After
that point, all invocations of the ps command hang, and the system load
rapidly climbs. htop just hangs without ever displaying the process
list. Cannot shutdown. Must use power switch.

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
