Hello. This error seems to be a freak incident in which the bug reporter's apt cache file got corrupted during an apt update. (This could happen with any apt repository.. not just Automatix). Please do the following from terminal to fix this situation: sudo rm -f /var/cache/apt/*.bin sudo apt-get update
