Not sure if this is related to the framebuffer message, but what randomly happened twice is that after resume the display stays black, monitor says that I should verify device connection. As workaround I switch to tty with ctrl+alt+f1 and back to GUI with ctrl+alt+f7, which then presents the graphical login prompt.
