I have also noticed that the image from my webcam comes out flipped horizontally.
I found a partial workaround for my model. Installing v4l2ucp gives a configuration tool for brightness and other stuff. Increasing the brightness parameter to maximum makes that the video output does not freeze. It just still has a small initial delay to react to movement. There is also a parameter to flip the video output horizontally, so this also makes the image come up correctly. But using it with skype (with an environment variable set up to /usr/lib32/libv4l/v4l1compat.so, otherwise the webcam does not work) if I change this parameter skype crashes when enabling video. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/863351 Title: Webcam stops if there is no movement To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/863351/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
