(HP pavilion dv7-1103ef) Three (!) years after discovering this bug, I finally took the time to unplug my hard drive, install another hard drive, install this marvellous OS : windows vista, then run the HP bios updater. Then unplug the temp drive, replace the original and beloved ubuntu drive, and test :
