Odd, I've been running every precise kernel for a while now on a MacBook
Air 4,1 without ever seeing issues with the keyboard.

Please try the following when the keyboard is not working, using an
external keyboard. Install the input-utils package, then run 'sudo
lsinput' and look for the one that has a name similar to "Apple Inc.
Apple Internal Keyboard."

If the device is not there, attach the output from lsmod, lsusb -v, and
dmesg. If the hid_apple module isn't loaded, try loading it and see if
the keyboard works and what sort of output is produced in dmesg.

If the input device does show up in lsinput, run 'sudo input-events <n>'
where <n> is the input device number for the keyboard. Then push some
keys on the built-in keyboard and see if input-events produces any
output. It's probably worthwhile to attach dmesg in this case too and to
look check it for any errors related to hid_apple.
