I have a 1280x1024 resolution and Refresh Rate of 75 Hz. I had tested the Edubuntu package files which, I think, are unrelated to the issue and I no longer get that screen display malfunction.
It seems like it had changed all settings to behave as the Edubuntu version from boot up to shut down. I have now uninstalled the package and reverted to Ubuntu and everything works fine other than the Edubuntu logo showing up on startup. Edward C. You can check your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file to check this, or you can use the System->Preferences->Screen resolution menu option from the GNOME panel. Thanks in advance. ** Changed in: Ubuntu Status: Unconfirmed => Needs Info -- Random "Tv like-Static Screen" on Dell LCD https://launchpad.net/bugs/56515 -- Random "Tv like-Static Screen" on Dell LCD https://launchpad.net/bugs/56515 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
