Yep, you're right to point that it's just a workaround to wait til this bug will get actually fixed. The MacOSX way to use the touchpad is not made of good choices.
About wifi it seems to work here. I've just received my NP700Z5A today. I just switched to precise. So I've not a lot of use behind me. I noticed that during the update the wifi connection gets closed a lot of time and that the driver seems very verbose. But now that it is updated seems to be back to normal. I'll now try to focus on installing Catalyst drivers. Is there some dedicated place (wiki or something like that) to share about ubuntu support on this device? In order to not spam this issue with things not related to it. I grabbed some hints about the intel GPU chipset that could be interesting to share too ;) And I guess that other guys that gets Catalyst drivers installed could share interesting points too. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/894515 Title: Samsung NP700Z5A elantech touchpad not fully recognised To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/894515/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
