Public bug reported:

I followed this:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/NetworkPrintingWithUbuntu

Two Ubuntu 11.10 machines (fresh installs). Setup printer on one (print
server) all good. When I setup the client, it automatically finds the
print server, and lists it by the Zeroconf-style local host name i.e.
computer.local. When I selected that and tried to print, I got:

Unable to connect to printer; will retry in 30 seconds...

If I ignore the automatically found Zeroconf hostname and I type in the
IP Address instead, it works perfectly. Something is wrong with how the
client printer server uses the Zeroconf hostname.
