Hmm, Jean-Baptiste, could you give a bit more details on how that system
was initially installed?

My understanding is that upgrade works fine if it's a desktop install
with Network Manager or if it was installed with debian-installer and
had a static config.

If you installed the machine using DHCP in d-i, then manually altered
the configuration in /etc/network/interfaces to be static but without
adding the dns-nameservers and dns-search options that d-i would have
added, it's indeed a bug but it's far from being Critical (as it's not
something that'd break with a default install).
