I also have a very similar problem. The problem exists in a Fujitsu- Siemens Amilo Pi1505 notebook, with Feisty, and also in a computer with Edgy and Feisty.
If I log out, and choose Shutdown from the kdm menu, it works well, but if I try to shutdown from KDE (Log out... --> Turn off), the notebook's screen is flashing, or there is some graphical garbage, the other computer's screen is turn off. The computers aren't answer anything, except if I push the power button (for about 5 seconds). I think, the following bugs may be the same: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-source-2.6.17/+bug/67186 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kubuntu-default-settings/+bug/102298 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-source-2.6.20/+bug/102322 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/106181 Some extra information: The notebook: - uname -a : Linux interceptor 2.6.20-15-generic #2 SMP Sun Apr 15 07:36:31 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux - I attached the output of dmesg (dmesg.log) The other computer: - uname -a : Linux urban 2.6.20-15-generic #2 SMP Sun Apr 15 07:36:31 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux (I cannot attach 2 file, but if necessary I will send th output of dmesg or anything else). If I have to give other information, please let me know!
