Public bug reported: The latest upload of network-manager-applet in Precise (0.9.2.0+git.20120126t000800.5151959-0ubuntu1) leaks memory heavily.
1) Description: Ubuntu precise (development branch) Release: 12.04 2) Package version 0.9.2.0+git.20120126t000800.5151959-0ubuntu1 3) Memory use for the nm-applet process should stay steady overtime (less than 20MB RSS in previous versions). 4) Memory increases quickly over time (at least 3 MB/minute, the nm-applet process reaches 200 MB in less than one hour, and keeps increasing). Work-around: reverting to version 0.9.1.90-0ubuntu6 fixes the problem (memory use for this version stayed below 18 MB overnight). Comments: There have been various leaked reported against nm-applet, most of them due to a bad interaction between nm-applet and application-indicator. The behaviour seems similar to the one reported here for gnome-power-manager: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-application/+bug/569273 ** Affects: network-manager-applet (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/931290 Title: recent version of nm-applet leaks memory To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager-applet/+bug/931290/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
