I'v been upgrading ubuntu in the belief that newer is better. Now I've reached
12.04 precise and the cube flash remains.
IMHO users can not expect developers fighting with tons of codelines in order
to fix compiz, bout I'd dare to ask ubuntu people to build a package containing
an old compiz version and a couple of lines of instructions to downgrade it. No
more than two hours of their time.

It's not difficult to install debian stable and kernel 3.2 using
backports or so, but I feel bad leaving ubuntu.
