Hi Ayan, thank you for your support! I've written to you in order to let you know of other tests I've done following some hints from Luis Medinas <lmedi...@gnome.org>. I'm writing the results down here - I hope they're useful. Best regards, and let me know if I can help you somehow, Nico ********************************************************** On my updated Ubuntu 11.10 32 bit: 1) In dconf-editor I've changed: apps - brasero -plugin growisofs priority to 50 (before it was 0) wodim priority to -50 (before it was 0) -->> same problem of unreadable DVD without any error from the program. 2) setting growisofs priority to -50 wodim priority to 50 gives a visual error around 60% of the process : stderr: wodim: Cannot fixate disk. > Even with growisofs there's some setup that might solve your problem... > check on dconf-editor -> org -> gnome ->brasero -> config -> dao_flag > > also you have other options here that might help you solve the problem.... > 3) I've tried to set all the flags there: dao-flag + immed-flag + raw-flag -->> same problem of unreadable DVD without any error from the program. > I suggest you to try cdrecord not wodim (cdrkit) which comes installed > by default on Ubuntu. 4) This is not so clear to me... I had a look in the Software Center but I cannot find anything ready to install. Googling around I've found that in a PPA: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ferramroberto/cdrtools sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install cdrecord cdda2wav mkisofs + reboot The installed cdrecord is now 3.0.0. I cannot find any cdrecord entry in dconf-editor. I tried with the normal settings, but: -->> same problem of unreadable DVD without any error from the program. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/780117 Title: Brasero finishes without error but unusable media [on-the-fly mode] (Ubuntu 11.04-11.10) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/brasero/+bug/780117/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
