If I may, there is a fix to this, but it requres the use of gsettings or
the Dconf editor.

If there was a way to parse the wallpaper file name as it is being set
and send it to the gsettings command, this would be easily fixed.

The command would look like:
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background picture-urt 
'file:://<full_path_name>'
