I changed the title to reflect the fact that all Precise non-pae min.iso installations (regardless of DE) and upgrades from either Lucid or Oneiric also install the current version of 'linux-headers generic-pae' even though 'non-pae' is in use.
I'm also sticking my neck out and subscribing Stéphane Graber because he has close connections both to Ubuntu QA and the installer-team. Apologies in advance but we probably should have a definitive answer regarding this before Precise Beta 1 iso-testing begins in about 1 week. Probably also need a package reassignment but I'm not sure what package it should be assigned to. It does effect both Ubuntu and Lubuntu, I haven't yet tested the upgrade path in either Xubuntu or Kubuntu, nor installing those DE's after installing with the non-pae mini.iso. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/937248 Title: Precise non-pae installations and upgrades needlessly install linux- headers-generic-pae To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lubuntu-meta/+bug/937248/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
