Thanks for checking in. I already moved the old ~/.mozilla to ~/.mozilla_old, and none of my attempts have yet created a new ~/.mozilla (except when I managed to start up firefox as root, it probably created a /.mozilla, which I should probably look for and delete).
I'll double-check tonight though.
