I've put together some changes to toshiba_acpi based on my best guess as
to what's needed to fix this problem. Please install the dkms package
linked to below, then run "sudo modprobe -r toshiba_acpi; sudo modprobe
toshiba_acpi" to reload the driver. Please let me know whether or not
/sys/class/backlight/toshiba is still present, and test the various
backlight interfaces as described in #5 before and after suspend to see
if they work.

Also, _before_ installing the driver, can you test the toshiba backlight
interface by writing directly to its brightness file? It will be helpful
to know whether or not it works with the current driver.
