Public bug reported:

This may be a libao issue?

Pianobar logs into my account, gets my stations, plays the station I select.
However, it sounds like it's all 'clipped' samples. I tried changing the format:
aacplus, mp3, and mp3-hifi all have this heavy clipping.

As a note for testing: I started pithos, set it to each of the three formats
(admittedly had to install more gstreamer codecs) and the sound quality for each
was about what I expected. No hint of clipping.

This is basically a new install of xubuntu oneiric.
