Have the Ubuntu team considered trialling the newest Unity interface with newbies who have never used or seen Ubuntu before? If Unity can be worked on, made faster and stop it conflicting with Wine (Unity makes Wine run *very* slow, GNOME does not), I think Ubuntu will have a better chance of succeeding.
Also consider that Ubuntu is generally used as a second operating system, with Microsoft Windows kept for things that don't run in Ubuntu e.g. Nokia Ovi Suite. This is why Unity needs to be faster, because Ubuntu is usually installed on older computers when people buy newer ones with Windows 7. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1 Title: Microsoft has a majority market share To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/clubdistro/+bug/1/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
