I'm happy to improve the wording, but the current proposed wording is
just not acceptable.

out:

 - this program (/usr/bin/ffmpeg) is intentionally kept at an old
   version for compatibility purposes only.

 - it will be removed in a later version of ubuntu

 - Users and Applications are urged to convert to /usr/bin/avconv, which
   does receive  maintenance and development.

Any takers for proposing a patch?
