I had this problem on two different installations. ** Description changed:
Sometimes, dns lookups via local bridge and local pdnsd take a long time. Additionally, pinging a KVM machine attached via tap device to the local bridge gives a "network unreachable" error because arp requests - don't get routed to the VM. After some time and/or tcpdump starts the - problem goes away without any further modifications/help. + don't get propagated to the VM. After some time and/or tcpdump starts + the problem goes away without any further modifications/help. A downgrade to kernel 3.0.22 helps. Kernels 3.1.x and 3.2.x seem to be a mess. Going live with them for the next five years, seems rather questionable.
