Missing log files but most likely this is your issue:
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket
'/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)
One of the following issues will cause this:
1. MySQL isn't installed or running
2. Your /etc/mythtv/mysql.txt or /etc/mythtv/config.xml have the wrong MySQL
login information
3. You provided the wrong MySQL login information when prompted
