Hi Colin, Many thanks for your test kernel, but I got the screen freeze again :-(
Additionally I installed Ubuntu 10.04 with current kernel 2.6.38.38 (I guess) and as I already said got no issue but desktop with low screen resolution and let's say "old looking" desktop.
