As being a rookie in Linux, I'm having the same error : attached scsi removable disk On a asus 5750G with Nvidia Gforce 520M
It is running Windows 7 and I have Ubuntu 11.10 booting from an USB device I see a solution changing "nouveau.modeset=0" How/where do I add it I cant get into Ubuntu at all so I guess I should do this either during boot (when ?) or changing something in the files on the USB drive. the file: to /etc/default/grub is not on the usb drive.
