Public bug reported: Apport uses /etc/apport/blacklist.d to determine whether or not it should create a crash file for the program that just died. Currently, this blacklist contains Firefox and Thunderbird.
This is now insufficient for two reasons: - It offers not explanation for why the application window just disappeared. - We actually want to collect these crashes in the crash database, regardless of whether or not they can be retraced. I propose we check this blacklist only before attempting to send crashes to Launchpad, after we've potentially marked it to be sent to the crash database. ** Affects: apport (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/948851 Title: Apport should only use the blacklist to consider whether or not to send a report to Launchpad.
