Oh you want to have the mono-space font as a default setting. Sorry, I
misread/misunderstood.

Personally, I am against as I think using the system font better integrates 
with the rest of the OS (and I do not encounter any/much emails that used 
spaces to format).
Generally, I am afraid you request is going to be denied, although I do not 
know the policies on how requests are getting voted on or something similar...

You could try create an upstream report by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/KDE maybe the KMail developers can
help you further. If you have done so, please tell us the number of the
upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a bugwatch that will inform us
about its status. Thanks in advance.
