Public bug reported:

I am running ubuntu 11.04 with gnome on a Sony Laptop PCG-7141L, when 
connecting a second monitor to the VGA output while ubuntu is running the 
system locks up solid, no response from keyboard, video or mouse. I can remove 
the monitor and the system stays locked up. If I connect the second display 
before booting up everything works fine.
I tried bringing the xserver-intel back to version 10.10 following another user 
suggestion but this did not work:
