I've just downloaded another precise iso, installed updates and tested this bug, but I can't reproduce it this time. Jorge, could you please try to reproduce it after applying updates (if available)?
When I run in a console pidgin (while been opened in the dash) it says that there's a libpurple instance open. Try to do that as well.
