Public bug reported: While installing Lubuntu precise-desktop-powerpc.iso 20120309 on an eMac G4 800 MHz, Nvidia graphics, I received an error during the install process: Failed to execute child process "ubiquity" (No such file or directory)
Steps I took: 1) Boot from desktop .iso, that seemed to work just fine 2) Right click on "Install Lubuntu 12.04" desktop icon, select "Open" 3) Installer window is black/dark 4) So I open Customize Look and Feel, change widget to Clearlooks and background color (customized color them) to a nice purple 5) Installer text visible now, so I choose Install 6) I choose "update this installer" and Install 7) I had enough drive space and internet connection 8) I choose dowload updates and download extras 9) choose Install 10) wanted to go back and turn off download updates, but when I choose the "Back" button, the system seemed to freeze, then I received the " Failed to execute child process "ubiquity" (No such file or directory)" error. To file this report, I used "apport-bug lubuntu-desktop" from LTerminal, so the computer seemed to be working fine from the live CD.
