Sorry, I won't patch thunar for that. What thunar does is perfectly fine, there's no real bug here. Notify-osd decided on its own to behave like that for non-expiring notifications.
In this case, flushing data to the drive before eject/unmount can take a very long time, that's why the expiration time must be zero, otherwise the user might unplug the drive too early if the notification disappears. A few releases back, Xubuntu used notify-osd, and we already had this discussion with upstream, came to the same conclusion, and we reverted to xfce4-notifyd because it's more flexible, themable, etc. I'm closing this bug, but the upstream one is still open, and the discussion can continue there (e.g. if some has an idea on how to rework this part of thunar). ** Changed in: thunar (Ubuntu) Status: New => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/941023 Title: Thunar messages are shown as popups To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/thunar/+bug/941023/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
