I found the solution to the problem, even though I think it is not as accessible as it should be:
Install package "paman" (some advanced tools for pulseaudio), then launch "pulseaudio volume control" (at least I assume thats the english name) und go to the tab "configuration" where you'll find the sound setting you're accustomed to (carefull, changing the mode sets volume to maximum, so better don't be playing loud music while changing the option...)
