Excuse me, but how is installing bind9 or dnsmasq a "particular use case"?
I'm talking about the default installation, not some corner case...

the same system

We have 250 schools here that use NetworkManager and dnsmasq as the DNS server,
are there any stats that show that this is actually rare?
And, actually more rare than the split VPN need that the local resolver
addresses?

Since the local resolver implementation seems a bit immature and needs to break
two packages in order to work, one of them in main, wouldn't it be better if it
was postponed and not be applied in an LTS release until it's more cooperative?

Kind regards,
