Not happening here, and since I wrote some of that code, it's explicitly designed not to do that. If I hold alt for more than 500msec, the HUD will not come up. > I can also invoke the HUD if I hit Alt-Tab *very* quickly. It could > be a timing thing. However fast I try to Alt+Tab, no HUD is coming in :/, but if I fail to press (or release) Alt _before_ tapping Tab, then HUD indeed does come up. But that's a missed shortcut. > My Unity 2d environment is a MacBook Pro, running Precise in a Fusion > VM. Standard internal keyboard, no xmodmapping going on, standard > English layout. I would actually be very keen to say VM is the issue. I've had that with "keyboard integration" mode in VBox, because the initial Alt press was sent to the VM, but then since Alt+Tab was a host shortcut, Alt was "taken away" from the VM and it triggered the HUD. If you have others that reported the issue, if you could please come here and report their findings that would be great. To test otherwise you could attach a USB keyboard and make the VM be the "owner" of that USB device to see if you can still reproduce. -- Michał Sawicz <michal.saw...@canonical.com> Canonical Services Ltd. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/947468 Title: Alt summoning of heads-up-display interferes with Emacs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity-2d/+bug/947468/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
