Public bug reported: I have an app (mulberry) which is not 64 bit clean so I need to run the 32 bit version, when I install it (from an external downloaded .deb) there is a conflict with libaspell.
this is a problem in and of itself, but it is made significantly worse by the fact that what apt does is to uninstall all of kubuntu-desktop in order to install the 32 bit library. I then have to manually remove that library to get kubuntu installed again ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: libaspell15 0.60.7~20110707-1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-18.29-generic 3.2.9 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-18-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 1.94.1-0ubuntu2 Architecture: amd64 Date: Tue Mar 20 05:48:43 2012 ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_US:en TERM=xterm LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: aspell UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to precise on 2012-03-03 (16 days ago) ** Affects: aspell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug precise -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/960160 Title: multilib problem between i386 and amd64 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/aspell/+bug/960160/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
