I can also report the same bug on my sister's Fujitsu Amilo laptop, with Feisty 2.6.20-16-generic. HIBERNATE_MODE=platform did not help, whereas it did the job on my lenovo T60. A shutdown heals the problem. It seems this bug affect quite a lot of machines, out there....
