Changing status to Fix Released because the bug is no longer apparent in Kubuntu 11.10.
I have currently got installed plasma-widget-networkmanagement 0.9~20111023.ff842e-0ubuntu1 (amd64), which is not the version from the 11.10 repositories. As the original reporter, I suppose I ought to document my previously undocumented steps to reproduce, which now fail to reproduce the bug: 1. Go to System Settings 2. Go to Application and System Notifications 3. Choose the Network Management event source from the drop-down list. 4. Enable a pop-up notification and a command to run (kwrite used as a test) when the event occurs, by clicking on the appropriate check boxes, typing the command in the box, and clicking on Apply. 5. Disconnect from currently connected wireless network using the red cross button on the connection in plasma-widget-networkmanager. 6. Connect to the same network again by clicking on the appropriate entry in the list in plasma-widget-networkmanager. 7. If the bug is present, there will be nether a pop-up/system notification, nor evidence that the command specified in System Settings has run.
