It should indeed indicate the totally selected space somewhere, and it sould be possible to select 650/700/800 MB, or 4.7/9.0 B (or actually 4.4 and 8.x, I don't know the exact values) for DVD's. And if possible at all, automatically select the value corresponding to the empty medium inserted.
