Public bug reported: Even with no network cable plugged in, powertop reports about 1W of power used by the sky2 (eth0) device. When unloading the module, the overall power usage goes down significantly, so although powertop doesn't always report the most reliable data about what single devices use, this one seems to be in the right ballpark.
As this is netbook hardware, a Watt is a lot, especially for nothing. I can't get per-device power usage estimates for Windows but the overall power usage was easily a Watt less than what I am able to achieve on Linux and this might be part of the problem.
