Update: as an experiment, i've tried the command in the HowTo after i've
switched to another (non-graphical) console by pressing ALT+CTRL+F2. The
System entered the suspend state, and pressing the power button
recovered in in the console, apparently with all things working
properly. However, Pressing CTRL+ALT+F7 to go back to the xorg graphical
interface seems to put it back in the unrecoverable state described
above. Right after the successful resume in the console based virtual
terminal i've saved the dmesg output, and attached it here as
suspend2.log.gz.
