This is one of those Me too statements. I've got the same problem but with an ipw3945 driver and actual version of feisty.
Same scenario. I've no problems connection to an encrypted wireless network. But after that, I've got the problem connecting to an unencrypted one. This happens often after connecting successfully to an unencrypted too. I've attached the daemon logfile. First part the unsuccessfull attempt and the second part the successfull one.
