Public bug reported: usb-creator-gtk can't reserve user-space more than 2GB. It was tested against 8GB flash and ubuntu-11.10-desktop-i386.iso.
usb-creator-gtk itself advertises ability of 4GB max. of user-space for 8GB fat32 flash, obviously restricted to fat32 max. file size standard. But actually usb-creator-gtk stucks hamming with in 2GB to 4 GB user- space sizes. At sizes 3GB to 4GB it simply erases created user-space file finishing its creation. At sizes 2Gb to 3GB it just stucks at some magic percent of 'finished amount' . Moreover, it would be good idea to allow usb-creator-gtk to use other FSs (like ext4, ntfs) with weaker file size restrictions to allow users to obtain more user-space in ones favour. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Assignee: Fadec Mirror (ffadec) Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/965108 Title: usb-creator-gtk can't reserve user-space more 2GB To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/965108/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
