Same problem with a variant: access to DVB-T could be fixed but side effects on webcam device
Description: Hauppauge HVR-1300 with analog & DBV-T functions, using cx88 which by default did not work either in Feisty. 1. My quick initial fix was to get the drivers from www.linuxtv.org and compile and load them. Then without any additional action, the device could properly work, kaffeine was the proof. 2. However, as I am using a Logitech Quickcam Chat Skype, I have got surprised that the webcam did not work anymore. After investigation I found out that the webcam was initially /dev/video0 but now I had the following devices: /dev/video0 for cx88 /dev/video1 for cx88 (I guess for the MPEG hardware, but I think the driver to use it is not yet developped from the comments I found through www.linuxtv.org) By no means I have found a way to recover the webcam. I tried the same way I enabled it in U6.10 by compiling and installing the drivers from http://mxhaard.free.fr/ which was reported to be successful in the forums. However in U7.04 they do not compile, I tried the last 3 versions, where the versiĆ³n (current - 2) was properly installing in U6.10. 3. Last workaround will be to reinstall U7.04 and load the modules as stated in this thread, in order not to lose the webcam functionalities (after checking whether any other one has been successful that way). -- DVB-T not recognized in Feisty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/108073 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
