I have the same problem. I have a WiFi USB adapter and if I configure the WiFi network in /etc/network/interfaces, avahi-daemon fails on boot. This is my /etc/network/interfaces file: auto lo iface lo inet loopback auto wlan0 iface wlan0 inet dhcp name zd1201 wireless_channel 3 wireless_mode managed wireless_essid THOMSON wireless_key [MY WEP KEY] address 192.168.0.11 netmask 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.0.1 One solution is not configure in /etc/network/interfaces, and when GNOME starts, configure manually the WiFi using Network Manager, but this method is ugly. I don't know why there isn't a solution. -- [feisty] avahi-daemon 0.6.17 fail on boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/107630 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
