Unfortunately, just before upgrading to Feisty I replaced my framebuffer capture card with a hardware encoding card (bt878-based card to a WinTV PVR 500), so I can no longer reproduce this problem. (The mpeg-2 files produced by the PVR card are obviously controlled by the hardware encoder.)
