My previous comment was incorrect. I ment the SATA II (3Gb) ports stoped
working. It turns out my issue is caused by faulty sata chipset.  As of
January 31, 2011 Intel recalled all  6 Series Chipset.

So for me this was a harware issue and no software is at falt. Sorry for
