Does not seem to be related to 965921, I checked the switch-group
keybinding in dconf-editor (as shown in
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1933323) and it is set to the
default '<Alt>Above_Tab'. Setting it to <Alt>^ does not help either,
setting it to '<Alt>a' or '<Super>Tab' works though. So it might be an
issue with the Above_Tab key. The key works fine in applications though.

Changing the keyboard layout to en-US does not help, neither does using
<Alt>` (which is left to the backspace on a German keyboard)
